You already know Cattaro Hotel is home to plenty of fun, history and excitement, but did you know it’s also the central base for some of the most important decision making in the region? It’s true! Every Wednesday, you can catch Rotary Club of Kotor members congregating for yet another week of organizing many of the city’s most important humanitarian and philanthropic activities and initiatives.
Kotor’s Rotary Club members are locals in wonderfully diverse professions: photographers, hospitality managers, small business owners and more; in fact, our very own general manager of the Cattaro Hotel complex, Janko Racković, is one of the most active members in our local rotary club. The group meets every week to work on organizing activities for good causes. Some of the latest feel-good contributions from the group include donating two new personal sailboats to the Lahor sailing club and collecting money on Earth Day for the purpose of eco-education in Montenegrin schools- and a collaboration with the local nursery, Mondo Verde, to donate graviola plants.
Over the years, the impact of Rotary Club of Kotor impacts local physical and mental health institutions, schools, neighborhoods, the environment, social causes, professional development, the arts and culture and more. Dr. Ranka Krivokapić is president of the non-profit organization. Visit Rotary Club of Kotor’s website or Facebook page for more information.
Interested in joining or meeting any of the members? Swing by Cattaro Hotel on a Wednesday night shortly before their 8 pm gathering commences- they’ll be happy to speak with you. Rotary Club of Kotor membership is available by invitation only, but it’s also a great idea to express your interest if you’d like to get involved.
“The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:
One of Rotary Club of Kotor’s most recent charity events was the second annual edition of Boka Cruise, held on the second day of this month. The event was a runaway success, bringing together Rotary Club members and their family and friends for a gorgeous summertime cruise on Boka Bay (The Bay of Kotor).
The event raised funds in financial support of a local, disabled young man with medical costs and an inability to work. Attendees had an amazing time dressed in maritime-themed looks while supporting an incredible cause.
